When it comes to music...

...there are a lot of choices. Genres, artists, albums, songs.... And then there's the choice of whether you want to listen to music that is glorifying to God, or stuff that doesn't.
Personally, I'm fine with listening to music that doesn't glorify Him. As long as it doesn't have any cussing, or is suggestive, that is. I'm not saying that I don't listen to music that doesn't praise God; I do. Most of the time what I'm listening to is Christian music. But I don't think that it's wrong to listen to other stuff too. Why would it be? Of course, song is a great way to praise God, one of my favorites. Whether it's in a band or chorus, making up your own songs, or just singing along to music, it really brings you closer to Him.
Some of my favorite Christian bands/singers are Vicky Beeching and Laura Story. I highly recommend them. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them. I'd also love to hear your opinions on whether or not you think it's wrong to listen to non-Christian music. So please leave a comment!

I listen mostly to hymns and classic rock, and classical music. I don't really know a lot of modern Christian music, and I don't like quite abit of it.

One thing that I might point out about music is that it was made to praise God. God made music. The whole book of Psalms is a song book of praises to God. Any music that doesn't praise God is really not what God intended for it.

Nice post, bye

I find it hard for me to listen to a lot of secular music because it has such a strong pull on me. It really can draw me away from God. So I mostly stick to Christian music and praise music. I do enjoy some oldies and some present-day stuff, but not too often do I listen to it.

Good post girl :)

Hi, I just found your blog and thought I'd comment ;0 The majority of my music is Christian, because I try to honor God in everything I do. But I do listen to some other things, and as long as it agrees with my personal music standards (no bad language, etc.), I'll listen to it. But like Savannah Nichole said, God made music, and ungodly music wasn't intended by Him. So yeah, I mostly listen to music I think honors and glorifies God ;) Good post!

If you think that God made music to praise Himself, you must think of God as quite unspeakably vain and conceited
